.
Having been a parent of a BRPS child
since 1998 (James) and now Will (grade
4) I am delighted to be involved in
School Council. It certainly gives an
appreciation of how hard our committed
staff and parents work to provide the
safest and best possible learning
environment. This is backed up by
fantastic academic results ! I see
Council’s role as one of engendering a
co-operative spirit between staff,
parents, the children and wider
community and supporting our hard
working staff. We certainly are blessed
to have such a fantastic school
community.

My name is Alwynne Johns and this is my third year as a school
council member. This has been a fantastic experience for
me, enabling me to contribute a small amount to the school.
I have three children at Black Rock Primary School in grades 5,
3 and 2. We came across from another local school nearly 5
years ago, and I am still impressed how the school and its
dedicated teachers have managed to get the best out of them
every year, and cater to the different needs of each child.
Not to mention that the boys love coming to school!

Ray
Tebbut
Treasurer

My name is Ray Tebbutt and this is my
second year on the school council – my first as treasurer. When
our family moved to Black Rock to live we looked at at a number
of schools in the area. We were impressed with Black Rock
Primary as each student has an individual learning plan, there
is an accelerated learning program and the concept of “parallel”
learning, where boys and girls are taught in separate classes in
years 5 & 6 particularly appealed – we believe that boys and
girls learn differently and this arrangement ensures the best
educational outcome. We also liked the size of the school and
the friendly community feel of the place. Two years down the
track we are delighted that we made the decision to send our
child to Black Rock Primary School

children in 3rd and 6th grades attending the school. Having
lived and worked overseas for the past five years where my

the school further. |
