Black Rock Primary School is located in a bayside residential
area and offers a high quality education to students.
Black Rock Primary School has established a proud history since
1910 and values its ability to provide for children from a range of
backgrounds and abilities.
Enrolment ranges between 350 and 410 students.
Black Rock Primary School values partnerships between school,
home, and community, providing a safe, stimulating environment that
is non threatening yet challenging, motivating, enjoyable and
conducive to learning.
Parental involvement is encouraged in many different areas, such
as teacher support, literature programs, celebrations, open days,
assemblies, sporting activities, school excursions and in parent
organisations.
The curriculum is based upon the statewide Victorian Essential
Learning Standards and our own School Charter.
Children learn in a positive environment, which encourages
cooperation and effective communication between teachers, students
and parents.
Within this environment the expectation is that, students will
develop positive self esteem, work cooperatively with others, take
pride in their school, their work and their culture, value
achievement and respect staff and other students.
As a consequence of their educational experiences, we envisage
high self esteem and cohesion within the school environment will
result.
